Match Report by Brett

After a lacklustre start the week earlier Easts decided it was time to implement a serious warm up. Stu suggested we try and knock each other over with shoulder charges and whilst seeming a bit funny at the time, may have in fact worked.

Easts came out fast and the midfield quickly linked with the forwards to provide Easts with their first short corner. Brett jinked through the first two runners to give himself an easy goal from 7 yards (after seeing his shooting from the top this may be the only place he can score from).

Jabber was back after a long awaited break and the only thing faster than Easts start was his departure from the field. After reaching the ball for the first time he removed himself from the field and quickly found himself a meat pie and a beer to accompany him on the sideline. Meanwhile he continued to get people into position by yelling at them between mouthfuls

Easts continued to be dominant all over the field with every player getting the better of their opponent. Brett soon put in his second, which was followed by two goals from Jarrod, one being a superb solo effort from outside the 25.

Easts were up four nil at half time but were far from finished. The second half started much like the first with crisp ball movement from the backs all the way up to the forwards. Richard soon had two goals of his own with some superb finishing that the team has become use to seeing from him. Not to be outdone Jamie “1 yard” Glister hammered home one of the best shots of the season - any more like that and the guys’ will have to give him a new nickname. Very soon after his goal, Jamie made the best save of the game as he put his body on the line behind the keeper to take a ball in the back and stop a certain goal - unfortunately it was Moorebank’s goal line.

Easts made very few mistakes but did let one goal through down the right hand side that ended their chance of keeping a clean sheet. Jason and Joe scored another 2 goals to finish the game strongly for Easts. Justin tried hard for the last 5 minutes of the game (and for 10 minutes after the game) to get the 10th goal but it wasn’t to be with the game ending up a 9-1 victory for Easts.
