Trials day a resounding success!

 Sunday 27th February saw Easts congregate at Kyeemagh hockey pitch in greater numbers than ever before for a preseason trials day.

 

There was plenty of talent on show, despite this being the first time anyone had picked up a stick in around six months, giving the captains a very welcome headache when it comes to selection for the upcoming season. Energy levels were high and, although many people were playing together for the first time, the teams managed to display some slick passing moves and defensive organisation.

Thanks to all for attending and hopefully the enthusiasm and commitment will continue through the pre season program and into the season ahead. Special mentions to Justin, Jabba and Nick Whiteway for their contributions to the organisation on the day.

It was also great to see so many people settle effortlessly into the long-standing Easts tradition of a well-earned post-match beer!

All initial signs are pointing to a promising year for the Eastern Suburbs!

Draft Fixture List Announced

Draft fixtures have been announced by the SHA for the first 4 weeks and are now available for our three teams under the 'Match Details' menu.

Please note that these may change and hopefully we'll get some of the missing information shortly from the SHA!

Trials & Registration Day 27/02/11

We are holding a trials and registration day at 2pm on Sunday 27th February at Kyeemagh (see the venuessection for a map).
This will be a first chance to dust off the hockey stick and have a hit before training starts. It's also a great chance to meet your potential team mates for the new season.
We'll play until around 4 and then there is a bar next to the pitch for anyone who wants to stick around for a bit afterwards.

AGM and Dinner 25/02/2011

Our AGM is coming up on Friday 25th February. Attendence to this meeting is of the utmost importance, as it is a term of our annual grant from Easts Leagues Club to hold our AGM there. It will be an informal and open meeting, where any ideas or suggestions you have for the upcoming season or beyond will be welcomed.

 

Following the AGM, we will be having dinner at Easts Leagues' new Italian Kitchen restaurant.

 

Meeting time of 18:30.
