East’s 3’s dish out a spanking for the Bentstix!
East’s 3rdgrade got back to their winning ways with a solid victory against bottom* boys, Bentstix.
(* bottom of the league)
Points of Interest
Defence
Reasonable solid performance from the back line. Some exceptional attacking moves from the pacey wing backs; Oakes and Hooker.
Sweeper Flash, using his significant experience and knowledge, demonstrated his steady composure by not getting a cheese throughout the game. Instead of succumbing to the ‘Red Mist’ he subbed himself off instead.
Midfield
Slight change around to previous weeks, with Cleggy inserted into the right half position, as in previous weeks this role was not used to its potential.
El Capitan O’Neil had a dodgy first half but dramatically improved for the second and put in a solid work effort.
Forwards
Steve Wright having missed last weeks game due to a romantic weekend away to Mount Druitt, was back in the line up and keen to increase his goal quota. The prolific scorer wasn’t to let the team down either by bagging another hat trick. His third goal coming from a fantastic quick passing move from O’Neil and the right wing back Oakes.
Tom Adams, having now been moved to the right wing spot, meant the East’s right hand side had some blistering pace. Tom grabbing himself a goal after cutting in from the wing and unleashing ‘the golden beast’. Unfortunately for Tom the single goal wasn’t enough to avoid the ‘DOD’ award. At times Tom misinterpreted the words ‘team game’ and found it difficult to pass to fellow players, but he still scored a goal anyway…!
The fifth and final goal for East’s came in the form of Catlett. Sneakily found his way into the D, and particular the back board.
Names to Mention
an Oakes – Heavily involved for the 4th goal and Wrights hat trick.
Neil Catlett – Nice goal from the silent assassin.
Steve Wright – Another hattrick, enough said.
MR – M Rippon (aka Dabba)
